First and foremost we are based in Melbourne. You know, the four seasons in one day town. The ‘oh what a lovely day… hang on a minute… it now appears that it’s now hailing’ city. We are not the only ones with bad weather but we sure do like to complain about it. In fact it is one of our most favourite topics. “How about that weather yesterday?” “Crazy, I had to change my outfit twice. It didn’t know if it was Ned or Stacey… ” Ok so we made that up but I guarantee you every Melbournian has had that conversation before.
Regardless of whether you live in Melbourne, Queensland or just somewhere in the Southern Hemisphere, chances are it’s a lot colder and rainier than normal right about now. So we wanted to round up some of our handiest homewares for those rainy days. Those days where you just want everything to be dry (or at the very least, away from your body so you can warm the heck up!)
Your entrance to your home is your great escape and if you’re heading in after being outside, covered head to toe with sky water (not a term but it sure is now) then you need a plan of attack and it goes a little something like this…
Entrance Way Must Haves
Your Winter Essentials are a sturdy entrance mat, hooks for your wet coats, an umbrella to grab quickly when you’re ducking outside (even if it seems like a sunny lovely day, Melbournians we’re talking to you) and a bench or shoe rack where you can store your shoes or bags.
Here’s my humble entry to my home. I chose the Nest Weave Entrance Mat and have a bench inside as a space to throw my keys, bags and to chuck off my shoes if wet. And I love my plants, so there are pots everywhere. I think it’s a nice touch to have a plant at your entryway as it simply makes you happier when you get to your door! If you want to have a sticky beak through my place go for it, it’s all good. Sharing is caring.
If you’re interested in choosing an rug for your entrance way here’s some quick ideas to get you thinking. Otherwise you can check out our full range of Entrance Mats online.
Keep warm everyone and stay dry this Winter! x
