The Byzantines are the best British band to ever come out of Adelaide and they’re coming to Melbourne this weekend to launch their epic new E.P.. With more than an audible nod to indie bands like Oasis, The Stone Roses and more evidently, Kasabian, these West End Lager drinking lads make such a sonically full sound they’re hard to ignore. While this song still has a decidedly British feel to it, its loose, Summer’y vibe coupled with the ‘spaghetti Western’ instrumentation makes it a tune far greater than its influencers. The boys will play at the Workers Club in Fitzroy this Sunday with other local faves of mine, Batz. It’s a show that’s well worth checking out… I mean, I’ll be there!
