This category is for the design of newly constructed detached or semi-detached individual dwellings with a floor area of less than 200 square metres. House Alteration & Addition Under 200m2
This category recognises achievement in the design of a renovation, extension or substantial reworking of an existing detached or semi-detached individual dwelling with a floor area of under 200 square metres. You can browse the full shortlist and enjoy a full house tour of two of the nominees; Barkly House by Dan Gayfer Design and Oye Mi Canto House by CplusC Architectural Workshop.
House Alteration & Addition over 200m2
This category recognises achievement in the design of a renovation, extension or substantial reworking of an existing detached or semi-detached individual dwelling with a floor area of over 200 square metres. Apartment or Unit
This category celebrates the design of a newly built or renovated individual dwelling within a multi-residential building, such as a single apartment, units, and duplexes. Enjoy the full shortlist.
Garden or Landscape
This category honours the design of external residential spaces. Eligible projects include decks, terraces, patios, courtyards, gardens, roof gardens, backyards, pools, and other built structures, like pergolas and cubby houses. House in a Heritage Context
This category recognises achievement in new works and/or conservation for heritage buildings and associated landscapes for residential use. To be eligible in this category the property must be subject to statutory heritage listing. See the full shortlist of beautifully preserved homes.
Sustainability
This category celebrates achievement in designs that display innovation and excellence in terms of environmental sustainability. The full shortlist of sustainability entrants is here.
Emerging Architects
This one is for the relatively new architectural firms. The conditions of entry are that the practice must have been established within the last five years and at least one principal must have first registered as an architect within the last seven years. Browse the work of some gun up-and-comers.
