We have finally completed our kitchen makeover! This 80s kitchen in our timber cabin was completely neglected. The existing kitchen was worn out and in need of some serious TLC but we had high hopes for this transformation. It took over a year of planning, designing, demolishing and building. Throw in plenty of challenges and a few changes along the way but we have finally finished our kitchen makeover. Is it epic? Yes. Are we tired? Also yes. So before we share the big reveal, we are taking you back to the very beginning to show you exactly how we created our dream kitchen!
I think this is my favourite room transformation we’ve ever done, it certainly is the most satisfying that’s for sure. It took us quite a while to finish, just over a year. We were living in the house while renovating which is always a challenge but it also makes the end result especially gratifying. The floorplan was kept similar to the original but we made it far more efficient. The new internal wall provides subtle separation from the dining and living while also practically housing the rangehood and additional lighting.
