You know how some houses just leave you with a little bit more joy than before? Akin to that warm, fuzzy feeling you get on a mild Sunday morning waking up sans alarm and enjoying your first cup of coffee (in bed)… oh my. Sorry where was I? Feeling good, that’s right and it’s those feel good moments that happen with you get up close and personal with Bicker Design‘s Northcote House. Oozing with softness and light, the Northcote House is a charming display of how family life can exist in amongst beautiful design.
Josh and Jenna Densten of Bicker Design know a thing or two about creating distinctly charming homes that will put more than just a roof above your head. Let’s take a look around…
The house instantly opens with a clean and calming lightness that illuminates throughout the space. White walls wrap around the interior halls with soft timber accents and custom dowel joinery that altogether provide a certain homely environment we’d all love to come home to at the end of a hectic day.
First stop, the kitchen. The powder blue kitchen space whilst light has calm contrast in texture between the white-washed concrete and earthly, caramel-coloured timber frames. While most cabinets go for the traditional touch of metal handles, the Northcote kitchen has opted for the tactile softness of leather. I told you this was a feel good house right?
The living space values simplicity. The decor whilst full, is not overwhelming and allows you to settle in comfortably in your surroundings. There is so much natural light that is welcomed throughout the entire corners of the home, contributing to an expansive feel.
Plant life and exposed painted white bricks in the bedroom add some more feel good vibes, with a nod to the original charm of this home. What Bicker Design are able to do time and time again, is to create exceptionally large spaces from a small footprints and making small homes become inner city palaces. No mean feat.
