The Armdaillo Sierra Weave Rug is now available in Charcoal. Armadillo Rugs all embrace Fair Trade practices, are crafted from sustainable natural fibres including pure wool, jute, cotton and hemp, and all purchases benefit local schools in the weavers’ villages.
Knit-like Sierra has introduced Armadillo’s soft Charcoal colourway in addition to the existing hues of Pumice, Silt and Chalk. Sierra Weave is part of the expanding Armadillo&Co Earth Collection from this now global brand, co-founded by designers Sally Pottharst and Jodie Fried.
“Sierra has quickly become one of our most popular rugs,” Sally reveals. “It’s so plump and cosy that it’s irresistibly inviting,” adds Jodie. “Now we’re taking one of our classic Earth colours and applying it to this range too. It’s a natural fit.”
Hand crafted from a plush wool blend, Charcoal offers a darker end of the spectrum from the existing grey tonal offerings.
“Deeper colours can be more forgiving and it’s a beautiful sooty hue that compliments contemporary spaces by adding warmth alongside sophistication. We think it’s especially perfect in a living room where comfort is key. It even looks great in a nursery for a modern styling accent.”
As with all Armadillo Rugs, the wool fibres are sustainably sourced and all production is under strict Care&Fair guidelines that protect weavers and their children.
“Children are the main focus of our gifting prof its back to the villages in India where our artisans live. We have seen first hand how much our aid in building preschools and health centres really means,” Jodie shares.
