With the newest addition to their Earth Collection, Armadillo & Co once again places emphasis on the innate beauty to be found in contrasting textures. Hand crafted from natural fibres, the new Husk Weave Rug alternates rows of hemp loops with those of cut wool pile. The design is based on traditional Indo-Nepali weaving and results in subtle patterning and a generous, plush pile that feels wonderfully soft underfoot.
Brand co-founder, Sally Pottharst, says the hard-wearing weave is ideally suited for contemporary family life.
“We design every product to meet our brand’s aesthetic and showcase the artisanship that goes into the hand crafting,” says Sally. “An inherent outcome of these time-honoured traditions is the durability of the rugs. The Husk weave is perfect for families as it’s made to last and the marled tones work well to hide minor spills and marks.”
Sally’s co-founder, Jodie Fried adds, “We chose the rug’s neutral colourways for their ability to be incorporated into today’s interiors. Depending on the placement, the complementary or contrasting tones can add calm or drama to a room.”
As with all Armadillo & Co rugs, the Husk weave is crafted in India to sustainable and fair production practices.
