We eat IN BED, kiss IN BED, talk, dance, love, fight and occasionally just sleep IN BED. Today we meet the maker behind the curated textile collection InBed. Say hello to Pip Vassett. Pip was a former fashion director of Yen magazine and freelance stylist, so she knows a thing or two about fashion, trends and style. Her eye for colour and detail is evident in the beautiful imagery and products that she creates for her brand. Pip is inspired by sleep-ins, breakfast in bed and staying in your pyjamas all day (now that’s our kind of inspiration!) Let’s get you two acquainted…
George Takes Ten
What did you want to be when you grew up?
A vet. Although at the time I thought a vet just played with puppies all day long. If they did, I’d still want this job!
When and what was the moment that prompted you to start your own brand?
On a campervan tour of the East Coast of N.S.W. I’d been styling (fashion) for 8 or so years and I really wanted a change. I was also a sucker for bed linen & home wares in general, so I thought I’d give it a shot!
In 3 words, describe your occupation.
Dreaming, planning, doing.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
Probably just to ‘go for it’. And that’s the advice I always give people too. Don’t be afraid to try something especially if your gut’s telling you to.
What is your favourite creative outlet to get the juices flowing?
Walking…I live near the harbour in Sydney so I love to go walking around Rushcutters Bay or the Botanical gardens…just thinking and plotting big ideas.
Where do you see yourself and the brand in 10 years time?
Building on the foundations of what we’ve started with IN BED. Producing more and more great product, exporting all over the world, working alongside a great team in a beautiful space…
Do you have any hidden talents?
Making (a very realistic and annoying) car alarm sound. Impressive.
What was the last movie you saw and was it any good?
Obvious Child – and yes! Funny.
Why We Love Them!
Simple and timeless colours in quality fabrics, the IN BED range of linen sheets is all you need for a good and healthy night’s sleep. Linen is a dream to sleep in all year round. It’s light and breathable in Summer, but keeps you cozy and warm in Winter. It’s also super hard wearing and can literally last for decades if cared for properly. In fact the more IN BED linen is slept in, lived in and washed, the softer and more beautiful it becomes.

“Music to wake up to” by Pip Vassett
These are perennial favourites and the songs I always come back to and play at home, on the road or in the studio.
