My-oh-my, how excited we are to introduce you to the incredible new collection from our faves over at Pop & Scott. The magnificent Desert Dreams Collection is exclusive to Hunting for George and is a true testament to the raw and untamed beauty of the natural Australian Landscape.
Hunting for George and Pop & Scott have been partners in crime since the beginning of time (aka 3 years). So we thought what better way to not only celebrate this friendship, but also to give a little somethin’ special to all of the people that have supported us on this unbelievable journey, you.
Poppy, the laid back creative genius behind the pots works alongside her partner in business and life, Scotty, to produce their widely respected furniture and homeware products.
With a background in Floristry, Poppy draws a lot of her inspiration from nature and the elements around her. The range features deep ochre blocks, ice pink triangles and black circles representing Poppy’s nostalgic visions of “red earth, pink salt lakes and perfect midnight skies” drawn from memories of her family farm in Western Australia.
The Desert Dreams range stays true to the ever so popular simple, but bold Pop & Scott aesthetic whilst also offering something entirely fresh and inspiring.
Get to know the friend that we all know and love, Poppy.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
Loads of different things at different ages and stages of my life. I once used to dream of being a driving instructor when I was 8! Really strange. I was an odd kid. I fell into flowers at a very young age and I have always been into interiors, I used to love changing my room up and making it beautiful.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
I think the best advice I have been given was when Frida was born. A close friend of ours said ‘Do what ever works for you guys to survive and to be happy’ We have done exactly that. My interpretation of it was to go with the flow and keep her close.
What is your favourite creative outlet to get the ideas rolling?
A Road trip, bush walk, or just being in the workshop with the crew, its pretty inspiring around here most days.
Greatest album of all time?
Shit, that is a seriously big question and really fucking hard to answer! I have Neil Young – ‘On The Beach’ on pretty high rotation at the moment, but I would not say it is the best album of all time.
What is your favourite guilty pleasure?
All pleasure, no guilt.
What was the last book you read and was it any good?
I have a 2 year old and a business and no time to read a book. This makes me sad…
Who do you admire most and why?
My Mum. She is a constant inspiration for me especially now that I am a mum too. I am amazed she had four kids of her own and 2 step kids and still managed to travel and create a colourful home, delicious meals, inspiring gardens and loads of love.
