Dear Plastic are creative duo Yumi and Taka who create paper installations with a distinct water colour palette. Their structural pieces, focusing on geometric shapes, are seen across magazines, gallery spaces and shop windows. The installation created for Incu QV Men’s store in Melbourne called “Our Cosmos” featured numerous POM (3d gem) shapes, each hand made and water coloured. Each gem suspended by string gives the illusion they’re floating, to create a larger shape across the window space.
The idea behind this piece is about a universe with a centre, with the shapes all around you as you walk into the store. The combination of all these hand made gems is incredible, you too can learn to create your own POM over here!
