It’s no secret that I get a lot of joy from being invited to experience people’s homes. Being able to meet the home owner and see the space through their eyes is what I love most, there is no better way to get a sense of their personality and what’s important to them. I try my best to convey the essence of every home in our Let Us In Home Tours, however, sometimes you need to hear it straight from the owner. That was definitely the case with the Uber Shed 2. In this video, we introduce you to Joe, the diehard collector that loves history, stories and impulsive purchases. And his wife of 40 years, Liz, who smiles knowingly with each new piece that arrives and sets to work on the decor styling.
I fell in love with Joe’s impulsive approach to life. Proud, rather than protective, he gets his greatest joy from being able to share these special historical objects with others. Together Joe and Liz are the ultimate collaborators, everyone that worked on this project from the architecture, interior design, the landscape gardening to even the builders, were all incredibly vocal of their respect and love for this couple and the project. Allowed to bring their own voice, ideas and creativity to enhance the space.
We captured this video whilst candidly walking around with Joe and Liz before we shot our Let Us In home tour. Joe shares his stories with me and I gasp nearly at every turn. I hope you enjoy this relaxed and raw video behind the scenes of the Uber Shed 2.
