Name: Adam Jelic
Brand: Mi Goals
Job Title: Founder / Managing Director
Location: Melbourne
What did you want to be when you were a little ‘un?
All I wanted and thought I would be was a professional soccer player. In the end I got close, but didn’t make it to the next level.
What made you decide to start your own brand?
Mi Goals started from my own personal dissatisfaction with the fact there were no structured, inspiring and design savvy notebooks to write my own personal goals in. That was the beginning and from there our focus has evolved to creating many more design savvy products and tools that help and inspire people to achieve their goals and live inspired lives.
How would you describe your style of work?
Minimalistic, clean and functional.
What is the best and worst thing about being a designer?
I am told by my Mi Goals business partner and head designer that deadlines are a pain while being able to express your creative side on a daily basis is exciting and very fulfilling.
What is your favourite creative outlet?
Playing the guitar or drums and spending a day playing golf. Really seems to help clear the mind and help focus it back on being creative.
There’s got to be something you’re shit at? What can’t you do?
I struggle to dance and I am a terrible handyman.
What are your top 5 websites/blogs at the moment and what makes them stand out?
Barefoot Investor
Design Love Fest
Cool Hunting
Addicted 2 Success
inc.com
The above websites are a mix of great websites across various fields, from finance, to business to design and success. They definitely help the team and I get inspired, get more in control and ultimately take our business to the next level.
Date, Marry, Kill… List any celebrity (dead or alive)
Date: Mila Kunis seems like a cool girl to date, good looking, funny, down to earth. Complete package in my eyes, would be awesome fun date.
Marry: My wife – however if it needed to be a celebrity I’d say you can’t go past Angelina Jolie, she’s not only smoking hot but also looks to be a great mother, wife and all round generous and caring human being.
Kill: Not the killing kind of guy, I would have to say no celebrity really bothers me that much that I would wish them dead.
So in the next couple of years your brand takes off like a rocket, multi million dollar offers start coming though the door. Do you stick with it? Sell out? Start again? What and where will you end up in 10 years time?
The perfect scenario would to be to sell a percentage of Mi Goals to a global company who believes in the brand, vision and purpose and together with their resources and reach spread the message to as many individuals around the world as we can. Ultimately we want to become a global lifestyle brand helping make millions and millions of people’s lives awesome.
10. What song or album are you currently listening to and is it any good?
Rude by Majic! – really cool track, chills me out and takes me back to the holiday in Hawaii me and the wife had a few years back.
Mi Goals just kicks butt when it comes to getting yo’ shit together. We love getting organized with a hint of attitude, life is just way too short to have boring stationery.

(Back story of my DJ name is when I was in year 9 I was on school camp at camp Licola and I became the “resident DJ” for that week the name stuck for a few years so I thought this was a good opportunity to bring it back outJ)
‘So my playlist is mishmash of old, new, rock, ballad and chilled songs. The songs all make me feel uplifted in a different way and take me back to a certain time in my life. Bon Jovi was the music we listened to in high school, a lot of my friends were of Italian background and Bon Jovi was a hero to them, his songs became our anthem during those years. Burn your name by Powderfinger is a song that reminds me of my wedding day to my beautiful wife. No easy way out from Rocky 4 still to this day makes me jump out of my chair and punch the air thinking I am Sly Stallone.’ – ‘Dj Jelic’ aka Adam Jelic
