Melbourne based firm ‘Architects Eat‘ is both an interior design and architecture practice having grown from a small operation to a large scale design team taking on some of Melbourne’s most noteworthy projects. With a philosophical design process the team at Architects Eat are best known for their designs that develop a close relationship with the function and context to avoid similar designs and increase innovation within the firm. That’s probably why this Fitzroy warehouse conversion won the Australian Interior Design Award for Residential Design.
Comfortable understated interiors compliment the light-filled space to make the warehouse truly feel like a family home. Pops of greenery and fake grass make the lack of outside space an inherently positive thing and is perhaps the triumph of design on the firm’s part – with light-flooded windows like these, who really needs a backyard?
